Local Products Featured In National Reveal For This Old House
The Farmhouse in Fairfield County 2020 Idea House uses flooring, doors and mouldings made at Baird Brothers in Canfield, OH
Youngstown, OH: In a live virtual tour, released on Wednesday via various social media outlets, This Old House highlighted its 2020 Farmhouse in Fairfield Idea House, which incorporates numerous products manufactured at Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods in Canfield, OH. The home, situated near a golf course on Long Island Sound in Connecticut, is slated to be featured in This Old House Magazine and on thisoldhouse.com/farmhouse2020.
This project marks the third year in a row that Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods has partnered with the This Old House brand. In 2018 and 2019, Baird Brothers supplied materials for six projects and, including the Farmhouse in Fairfield, has three additional TOH projects planned through the end of 2020.
“This was a fun one,” says Steve Stack, director of new business development at Baird Brothers. “Several other projects featured products like our quarter sawn white oak flooring. But, this home was more “modern meets rustic” and highlighted Baird Brothers’ character grade white oak for custom pocket doors and some beautiful box beams in the great room.”
As the name suggests, the purpose of This Old House’s Idea House (which was first introduced in 2015) is to give fans ideas and insight from a concept home that incorporates innovative and inspiring design. In years past, Idea House reveals included on-site tours and meet-and-greets, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, the process was moved to the brand’s virtual platforms.

The Baird products featured throughout the 2020 Farmhouse in Fairfield Idea House include the following: 7” live sawn character grade white oak flooring, poplar baseboard, poplar window and door trim, character grade solid white oak doors, paint grade poplar doors, primed poplar shiplap and live sawn character grade white oak box beams.
