Final images revealed, featuring Baird Brothers products, from Rhode Island Queen Anne-style home

Canfield, OH: Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods was recently highlighted again by This Old House in the digital reveal of their Seaside Victorian home restoration project. The property, located in Narragansett, Rhode Island, had previously been abandoned, but was brought back to life and chronicled on the 42nd season of This Old House TV.

Sweenor Builders, who has worked in tandem with This Old House and Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods on several occasions, lead the restoration project. The home features 20 doors, 3700 feet of mouldings and nearly 900 feet of S4S lumber manufactured right here in Youngstown, OH.

“We’ve had the opportunity to work with Jeff Sweenor on several occasions and his team’s level of craftsmanship is exceptional,” says Steve Stack, director of new business development at Baird Brothers. “I mean, they have their own millwork and custom cabinetry shop connected to their office—it doesn’t get much better than that!”

The Seaside Victorian project spanned numerous episodes of This Old House’s 42nd season, with much of the renovation taking place under COVID pandemic restrictions that included protective gear and new worksite guidelines.

While the pandemic halted construction initially, Sweenor Builders quickly caught back up, gutting the interior of the home and reconfiguring spaces while maintaining the historic integrity of the structure. According to Sweenor’s website, the company was highly dedicated to preserving as much of the home’s historic charm as possible.

“This was a unique opportunity to fuse craftsmanship, modern utility, and neighborhood revitalization in one project,” says Jeff Sweenor, president and CEO of Sweenor Builders.
